This guide details the modules on offer for completion of our Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma and Master of Arts degree in International Affairs. All modules will span a six-to-seven week teaching period.

The MA in International Affairs is 180 credits and is achieved through completion of the following modules:

  • All four modules from the lighter blue group
  • The Introduction to Critical Research Methodologies module from the red group
  • An additional two modules of your choice from the red group
  • The Critical Engagement with Literature module from the navy blue group
  • An additional two modules of your choice from the navy blue group
  • An additional two modules of your choice from the navy blue group

The Postgraduate Diploma in International Affairs is 120 credits and is achieved through completion of the following modules:

  • All four modules from the lighter blue group
  • The Introduction to Critical Research Methodologies module from the red group
  • An additional two modules of your choice from the red group
  • One module of your choice from the navy blue group

The Postgraduate Certificate in International Affairs is 60 credits and is achieved through completion of all four modules from the lighter blue group in the table to the right.

To allow for greater flexibility in programme delivery and student selection, each module appears on a regular basis and can be undertaken at different points. For instance, the International Security
