Marketing
Programme Delivery
This guide details the modules on offer for completion of our
Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma and MSc degrees. All modules are worth 15 credits each and will span a six to seven week teaching period.
The Postgraduate Certificate in Marketing (60 credits) is achieved through completion of the four navy blue modules (Group 01) in the table to the right.
The Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing (120 credits) is achieved through completion of the four navy blue modules (Group 01) in the table to the right, plus any four modules from the red (Group 02) and light blue groups (Group 03). Students must complete the modules in the navy blue group (Group 01) before moving on to their options.
The MSc in Marketing (180 credits) is achieved through completion of all 12 modules in the course, four in the navy blue group (Group 01), four options from the red group (Group 02), and the remaining four in the light blue group (Group 03). Students must complete the modules in the navy blue group (Group 01) before moving on to the remaining red (Group 02) and light blue modules (Group 03). We would ordinarily recommend that students study all the navy blue modules (Group 01), then all the red modules (Group 02), then all the light blue modules (Group 03) in order to move smoothly through the course. Students will, however, be able to take the last eight red (Group 02) and light blue modules (Group 03) in any order to allow for flexible progression through the programme.

modules from this
group [[row span 8]]
Each module swings around on a regular basis to allow for greater flexibility in programme delivery, and student choice. For instance, you’ll note that the Marketing Strategy and Planning module delivered in October 2023, also appears in June 2024, then again in March 2025 and so on. The table below outlines which modules will run in the various intakes through the year.
NOTES
- You can start your studies on any one of the four navy blue modules (Group 01) according to which one is running in your chosen intake.
- All four modules in the each of the groups run on repeat. This means that you’ll always be able to study all four navy blue modules (Group 01) consecutively without having to take a break. Students studying for the certificate will exit here.
- Once you’ve studied all of the first four modules in the navy blue group (Group 01), you’ll be able to move on to the red (Group 02) and light blue groups (Group 03).
- If you’re studying the Postgraduate Diploma, some of your chosen modules may be running at the same time. As you are only able to take one module in each teaching period, please speak to your Student Success Advisor in advance of choosing your options to discuss whether your preferred modules will increase your time to graduation.
- If you’re studying on the master’s degree, and you aren’t planning on taking a break, we recommend that you study all the navy blue modules (Group 01), then all the red modules (Group 02), then all the light blue modules (Group 03) in order to move smoothly through the course. This avoids any potential conflict in the delivery of modules that may force you to take a break from the course.
- Please note that King’s College London reviews the modules offered on a regular basis to provide up-to-date, innovative and relevant programmes of study. As a result, modules offered may be subject to change. We suggest you keep an eye on the course finder on our website for any updates. This PDF was produced in September 2024. Although it was up to date at the time it was produced, please make sure you check our website or contact us directly for the very latest information before you commit yourself to any of our courses.

Taking a break
We understand that many of our students studying on these programmes will also have full-time time work and family commitments. In order to give you the flexibility you need to be able to fit these courses around your daily lives, we’ve designed these programmes to be delivered part-time and in a more flexible pattern than you might experience on a traditional on-campus course.
We’ve given you the option to take breaks from study to accommodate those big work projects or family events. We would note though, that while our model is designed to help you get back on to the programme as quickly as possible, any pause in study will delay your graduation date. Please get in touch as soon as possible with your dedicated Enrolment Advisor (if you haven’t started yet) or Student Success Advisor (if you’ve started studying on the course) if you’re considering taking a break. We’ll help you understand the amount of time that will be added on to your studies as a result of the interruption, and will work with you to ensure that your return is as seamless and as expedient as possible.
We’ve illustrated a few examples to help you understand the impact of taking a break from the course.
